Yesterday the International Festival at UNM Campus in Albuquerque took place. Because of the unusual cold weather a lot of students prefered warmer places than the outside of the campus. However, some took their coats and scarfs to enjoy the event no matter how cold it was. So, what was going on there? There were booths from all over the world, for instance from India, France, Germany, China etc. that were representing their countries. They offered whole lots of food for low prices, very delicious….! Chinese Food - that probably everybody knows - like spring rolls, fried rice, chicken etc., the typical German “Bratwurst with Sauerkraut” or the France-booth gleamed with Mousse au chocolate, crepes (similar to pancakes) and creme brullete.
Besides food you could watch performances that are popular in the different countries. They showed flamenco, belly dances, indian dances, capoeira, karate, taekwando and so on. It was very interesting and entertaining.
I personally really enjoyed this event although my country was not represented. I hope, you did too, although it was freezing!
